Petra Prayer Points
Each month all of the members within Petra are encouraged to come together to seek God together as one body.
''My house shall be called a house of prayer'' (Matthew 21:13)
As a church after the heart of God we encourage everyone in the church to pray corporately, in small groups and individually for issues they may be facing personally and issues that are present in our society. The bible says in Ephesians 6:17-18
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…''
As the Lord releases His priorities through the members, we will continue to encourage all to join us in prayer through the monthly prayer points below.
October Prayer Points:-
Focus:Revival in the Church.(becoming a house of Prayer).
1. God to pour out the spirit of grace and supplication:resulting in deep Godly sorrow for not partnering with the Lord in intercession, and Repentance.(Zech 12:10).
2. Increase our level of expectation. Thankful for what God did in the past,is doing now and to expect more.
3. Expect God to manifest Himself in our gatherings in answer to prayer.(Jeremiah 29:12,13).
4. His desire to become our desire resulting to His delight.
5. The strong will turn to the weak.(praying for one another,bearing one another's burdens,discipling). (Ephesians 1:17-19:3:16-19).
6. Together we will go deeper into the river of God letting go of all controls.(being filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit).
7. Totally yield and depend on God to have His way in our meetings.
-His agenda to prevail and allow His interruptions.
8. Prayer will be at the heart of all our meetings and activities.
9. Prioritizing building God's house(Petra) and not focus on our own houses.(Haggai 1:8).
10. More liberty in our gatherings evidenced by increased manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
11. -release of variety of gifts and ministries.
12. - Increased presence of God.
13. - Increased fruit in ministry.
14. Increase our praying co-oporately in terms of intercity and frequency.
15. Pray for the Youth and Children ministries
-wisdom on how to take the youth ministry forward and learn from our past mistakes.
- ways to equip youth and children leaders to effectivelly fulfil their ministry.
-our youth to be established in God and that they will not backslide.
Be watchful to avoid the pitfalls of the enemy which tempts us to fall back or settle for mediocrity. (Matthew 26:41).
-watch to discern and flow with what the Lord is doing in our gatherings.
-watch in preparation for the second coming of the Lord.( Matthew 24:42-43).
September 2010:-
Theme:”Your Kingdom come”.
Focus: bring glory to God by praying for His Purpose to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
1. Preparation: prepare yourself spiritually, Cleansing (Psalm 24:3-6).Receive the washing of Christ’s blood (1 John 1:8-9).
2. Greeting God with Praise and Thanksgiving.(Psalm 100).
-Hallow His name (using God’s various names which reveal His attributes).
-Praise by acknowledging God’s Strength in your life.
3. Intercession:”THE RULE OF GOD TO COME”.
-First inviting God to rule in your heart by His Principles.(right motive, timing & decisions).
-Asking for the Kingdom to manifest itself through your life.
-Asking for the spread of the gospel to those who do not know Christ.
-Asking for the return of Jesus to establish His Kingdom on the earth in its fullness (Rev.11:15).
A. Pray for Revival in the Church (Petra).
-Repent for our murmuring and pray that Petra will become a house of Prayer.
-The strong will turn to the weak by discipling them.
- be prophetic, use gifts of the Holy Spirits to edify the Church.
B. Your world: family, employment, college ...
C. Perivale, London and the rest of our land.
D. The nature of the Kingdom it grows for a seed to much fruit.
- salvation of our Oikos.
- increase and multiplication in ministry and mission.
Benediction: Yours is the Kingdom, Power and all glory forever.
Kingdom-submitting to God’s RIGHT to answer prayer His way.
Power- trusting in His ABILITY to give you what you ask.
Glory- giving God the CREDIT for all your blessings.
